Day 11 - Got Faith?

Have you ever noticed how easy it is to keep the faith when things are going well?  Praying seems to be a natural response to express appreciation and joy!.  What about when things are not going as well?  Worse yet, what if you have a crisis?
As we all know, the headlines have been peppered with stories about people losing their jobs for a wide variety of reasons.  They say that a loss of job is one of the top 5 stressors in life.  Given this fact I think it is safe to say that we are all living in a society that is completely stressed out.

In Hebrews 11:1 we read:
"Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see."

It sounds simple enough - or does it?  Do we really have faith in what is unseen?  One of my favorite examples of this is LOVE.  It is not something that can be seen however we all know it is around us.  We can't put it in a box and yet it is the subject of many songs, sonnets and more.

I bring up having faith during difficult times and having faith in what is unseen as a reminder to all of us - faith is an ongoing exercise.  It will manifest in many different ways however it is based on trust and a relationship with God.  Putting our complete being in His hands, truly turning over a situation or concern to Him is the most liberating and yet the most challenging experience.

Have you really turned over your path to God?  Is he driving the car?  Are you asking for direction and then listening and paying attention for a response?  I am embracing this constant challenge and I invite you to join me.  The more I let him steer the clearer my path......go forth in FAITH!
