Day 7 - TGIM!!

Monday - what do you think of when you hear the word Monday?

It is traditionally the first day of the work week and signals the beginning.  When you hear people say this word the energy behind it is usually distinct.  Sometimes it is positive, sometimes it is flat.  Rarely does saying the word "Monday" garner the same energy as when we say "Friday."  Friday = the start of the weekend and we have a different level of enthusiasm for this day of the week.

This brings me to a set of follow up questions.  Do you love what you do?  Do you serve others in your work?  Work is an interesting setting.  If you are passionate about what you do and able to use your God given talents in your work, unique and innovative things emerge.  If we are focused on the positive outcomes we are a part of, large and small, our eyes focus on new realities and possibilities.

I am reminded of Proverbs 15:30 -

A cheerful look brings joy to the heart,

and good news gives health to the bones.

Is it possible to give the word Monday a cheerful look?  Could we embrace this day of the week with the same anticipation as Friday?  Would this kind of shift in energy and attitude have a positive impact on our day?  Our week?  According to Proverbs the answer is a resounding YES!
My prayer for today is to embrace the day with enthusiasm and look for ways to be a blessing.  When we serve in this mode amazing things emerge.  I pray that God will help guide my steps.
